The cardboard office uses WebGL technology and series of images stitched into a photo sphere to form a 3D environment. You can then visit a webpage and use your phones gyroscope and accelerometer to view the space inside a Google Cardboard.
Take a look through your phone for a basic view here: http://cardboard-office.lancaster.ac.uk/
Even better, let us know if you want to pop in and try a Google Cardboard, we have lots!
How does it improve the student experience?
The cardboard office project was a pilot to use at a conference to show the audience the Innovation Hub through Google Cardboard. We are now widening the potential for this for students to visualise the campus in a new and exciting way at events or at different space.
